Open Positions: Sewer Utility Operator
Birch Bay Water and Sewer District (BBWSD) is now accepting applications for an entry level Sewer Utility Operator. This is a full-time position with a generous benefit package. The District is looking for an experienced Sewer Utility Operator, but is willing to give on-the-job training and support to acquire Sewer Operator certification levels. This is a great position for a hard-working person willing to learn and grow in a new career.
Qualifications:
Prefer experience in Sewer Utility Operator position; if not then 2 years’ experience in operations, construction, or maintenance. Applicants must have basic mechanical abilities and be willing to be trained in the specifics of sewer operation. Applicants with less experience are encouraged to apply.
Primary responsibilities include the following;
Salary:
With direct experience in Sewer Utility Operator – $34.30/hr (Step 2 in range) to $39.54/hr (Step 6) and without direct experience but has 2 years in operations, construction or maintenance $30.82/hr. is starting wage; $31.93 is 6 mos Step; $33.10 Step 1 (depending on qualifications). Top of this salary range is Step 6 $39.54.

Small Works Roster
In accordance with RCW 39.04.155 and as authorized by the Board of Commissioners the District participates in the MRSC Small Works Roster. The roster will cover projects estimated to cost $300,000 or less.
On Call Work Roster
The District is participating in the MRSC on-call roster for professional services on an on-call basis. Project assignments will be made as needed to the most qualified firms in each category after fee proposal and professional services agreement negotiation. On call services are limited to $50,000.
