Birch Bay Water and Sewer District is currently accepting applications for a full-time Accounts Receivable and Payroll Clerk. This position provides customer service to the public and performs a variety of bookkeeping and accounting duties. Essential duties include utility billing account maintenance, accounts receivable, payroll assistance, water leak adjustment calculations, and preparation of various routine reports. 2023 Hourly Range: $: $29.49- $37.83/hr (Steps 1 through 6)
2023 Monthly Range: $ 4,718.40- $6,052.80
Starting salary is dependent on qualifications and experience, Steps 1 thru 3 are starting ($29.49-$34.00/hr)

Minimum Experience/Education
Requires high school diploma or equivalent and two years of experience in accounting, finance, or related field, and a valid Washington State driver’s license. Ability to communicate effectively with customers and complete basic math problems. Public sector and/or utility experience preferred.

The District offers competitive pay, with vacation starting at 10 days per year and accruing up to 25 days per year based on years of service, 12 days of sick leave per year, 12 paid holidays, a defined medical allowance of $2,356 (2023 amount) to cover family medical, dental, vision, with the remaining difference deposited to a health reimbursement account, plus life insurance.
